Disappointed, never really got it to work.May 12, 2008 I was SOOoo excited about his product. I have kids and sick family members and the fact that I would have something to clean and steralize that wouldn't be so toxic to them really excited me!! I opened the product, read the manual a couple times before using (in the car the day before and in bed that night! LOL!) I was heart broken when the first "F1" warning came up. The machine stopped because it was running for too long, water oxygenation had only reached 97%. Ok, I thought it needed a couple dry-runs to get it going. After SEVEN dry runs and my machine never completing a 100% oxygenation my heart was breaking.
I gave it a rest for a day. The third day it charged to 100% on the first try!! I was excited again! Although the 15 minute "count down" didn't kick in which concerned me (it has an automatic countdown so you know that after 15 minutes the water oxygenation begins to quickly deteriorate, the water turns back to plain old safe water). I started a second try with some fruit in the bowl. It didn't charge, only made it to 98% until the error warning. My excitement waned as after the 3rd and 4th time still no 100% charge. I gave up. Eleven tries and it only succeded once. I didn't even open the Terasno wet mop I bought and try that with the base unit.
I emailed Lotus with hopes I had been doing something wrong. My nearly instant reply (alright!) said that perhaps my tap water was too contaminated to be completely oxygenated. I wasn't excited. One of the main selling points for me was that it used tap water, just plain 'ole tap water. The thought of needing to purchase water for using it just cinched (sp) it for me. The product didn't live up to my expectations, or simply didn't work as it says it should.
Perhaps your water is better(?). I would not NOT recommend the product, but be prepared if you water is "too contaminated" for the item not to work. It's a FANTASTIC consept that I'm sure will go far. I'm still wondering if there was a glich with the machine??? It begin to charge great, then I would hear a high pitched tone, not a squeel or screach, just a high pitch tone, then the charging would slow waaaayyy down. The tone would fluctuate in and out. Perhaps it was the machine.

Great Product and Great Customer ServiceApr 23, 2008 I have had this product for about 6 weeks now and have not had any problems with the operation of it. I find it very easy to use. I have had one F1 error and I simply changed the water from the bowl with fresh water and reran the cycle and it went to 100%.
I use it for both household cleaning (including stains) and for washing produce. It is so great to be able to clean around the house without using harmful chemicals.
The company has wonderful customer service, which is important to me. I sent customer service an email asking for the item to hold the produce down in the bowl and I received a response the next day and the product in the mail within 5 days. We are so pleased with the product we are now planning to buy their water treatment system. I would definitely repurchase!

very picky systemApr 09, 2008 I purchased the sanitizer after a glowing review from another person, and ultimately returned it because it does not work with the plain tap water from my area. Our water is pretty hard, and the machine simply would not complete a cycle using plain tap water (as instructed). I initially tried to process 2 apples, and was told that it doesn't like apples because of the "wax". They told me to process 2 cycles of bottled water to clear the machine. After I did that, I tried to process plain tap water, and again got the F1 code. At that point I sent an e-mail (customer service was closed) and received a response that the machine doesn't like water with "contaminents". The "contaminent" in our water is calcium, which I can see would be a problem, but this information should be included in the product information before you buy, especially since the instructions TELL you to use PLAIN TAP WATER. Oh, yeah, one service rep also told me that sometimes it takes 3 to 4 cycles to clean, and another one told me it shouldn't take 4 cycles to clean. While I think this is a great idea, unless your tap water is filtered, the machine more than likely will not work for you.

Tersano Lotus Sanitizing SystemMar 31, 2008 I was very dissapointed with this product. It only worked twice and then it started malfunctioning (the F1 kept flashing). After various attempts I exchanged it for another one and the same thing happened. This time I did not hesitate to return it immediately and get a refund. The Amazon customer service was excellent on both occasions.

LOVE IT!!Mar 26, 2008 I almost sent my Lotus back after reading all those negative reviews. I used the Lotus for the first time and too had the F1 error message repeatetly. I gave up disgusted, to return the Lotus the next day. I put the bowl in my dish drainer to dry. The next day I noticed small brownish spots on the bowl and realized how bad my drinking water really is. I used filtered water and have no problems with F1 unless I use grapes, which we all know are heavily treated with pesticides and toxins.
A full bowl of grapes, even thouroughly washed, may take up to 2-3 F1 sessions. I really does keep my fruits and vegetables fresher too.
The spray bottle is a treat and regular treated water took care of some cat dodo splashed on my bathroom wall, which has a rough texture and is hard to clean. It also takes care of smelly areas - much better than any room spray which often aggravates my allergies.
If you have problems with the F1 comming up, check the water you're using and conisder what kind of food item you're trying to sanitize.
