5good choiceAug 10, 2006
both CD's are good... almost all of the songs were favorites, a couple I didn't know, but overall a very good choice.

4These ballads are indeed monstrous.May 28, 2006
If we could only make our own CD like this, which I guess we can now, but Monster Ballads does a pretty good job anyway. Alot of obvious choices are here, but that's what makes this a good set. Nobody wants a disc or two of unheard songs. Here we get Poison, Warrant, Slaughter, Winger, Cinderella, Extreme, and numerous others. To be honest, the highlights for me are "Fly High Michelle" and "Ballad Of Jayne", mainly because I never got any of their albums before. The biggest fault of this collection would be nothing from the giants of the genre. Nothing from Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Van Halen, or Guns & Roses. Still, some quality cheese within.

4Long live the '80s!Apr 27, 2006
This is a great collection of some of the classic power ballads from the era of hair bands. I wish I was older at this time. I was only 5 or 6 by the time this era had fallen to grunge. The one song I feel that really should be on here but isn't would have to be "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger. Out of every power ballad from that time, that is my favorite. Night Ranger was a great band besides that song, but people failed to give them the credit they deserved. Great collection of ballads overall though.

5Ah, those were the days...Apr 18, 2006
It's like that old commercial..."all these great songs on one album!" I'm glad!! Sure I was only 10-12 when these songs were first released, but listening to these songs really takes me to a special place...back when things were easier.

All great songs!! It makes me miss the days of big hair and loud guitar. A must have for anyone who appreciates power ballads.
