this review updated and changed to one starAug 04, 2008 Dont get me wrong the vitamix is still on my want list. However for the money this machine is fantastic. Ive been using this blender for over six months. I make smoothies everyday..make nut butters, nut milks, pack it with frozen fruit and no lumps whatsoever. I was nervous at first because a few people said they had leaks but so far so good..no problems..i love it! Its a great starter blender for those starting raw or are budget conscience.
update/ i so loved this blender until i had the dreaded problem that everyone else had. The bearings stripped and broke and i had smoothie all over the kitchen..i guess you get what you pay for..im going for the vitamix
Not that greatJul 31, 2008 2 things. Don't grind dificult things in this grinder. Do not grind salt and do not make nut butters. It seemed to do fine with raw peanuts (although I had to be very strategic about them). But it seems like sunflowers are just too much. I just got it back from breaking down on me and it's broken again, a few days later. I hate this blender! I don't wanna be fully unfair it's good for normal stuff and grain flours (oats & millet). But forget the heavy duty stuff. This is NOT a heavy duty blender. NO nut butters. It just can't take it. It doesn't grind rice very well either.
Bearing failedJul 30, 2008 The picture bearings failed after six months of normal (less than once a day) use. This blender has a lot of power, but the picture bearing are inferior for this kind of speed.
only works for about 2 months. company does not back it's cannister.Jul 09, 2008 The bearings are super cheap and will rust out, throwing the contents all over the kitchen. the company will not sell just the container so you have to buy a whole new machine. don't waste you hard earned money. I ended up having to just buy the vitamix like i should have in the first place.

Fabulous for the price!Jul 04, 2008 I have had this blender for about 4 months. The pitcher started to leak underneath and then I noticed brown rusty stuff coming from underneath the pitcher. I showed my son. He simply unscrewed the blade part from underneath took it apart and put veg. oil on entire part, blade and all.Screwed it back together and I have not had any leakage what-so-ever!! For the price this is a fabulous machine and I use it almost every day to make my morning breakfast shakes!
