    1Does not workJul 10, 2008
This product does not work at all. Do not buy this product, give your money to a dog to eat, because it would be put to beter use. Think about it the dog would eat the money and turn it into dogcr@p, that dogcr@p can be used for more things than the Auto Cool

    4great idea...prototypeJun 09, 2008
In order to sell these at a low price point, they had to make them small...too small to move much air. It would work better if either the fan was bigger or you bought a few and used them in an array.

These are actually built quite well - with it's sturdy plastic, few moving parts and no batteries, it could last a lifetime.

There are several types of these small solar fans on the market (and on this site) and I think they are "cool". Get creative and use a few to circulate air through a green house, vent the roof of your dog house or vent a bathroom.

    5Icy cold car - may cause frostbite!May 12, 2008
I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about. This product is great. The inside of my car is like a walk-in restaurant freezer when I get out of work. My only complaint is that the car is too cold. If I were to put my tongue on the steering wheel it would stick ala "A Christmas Story". If you buy this product you may also want to purchase a hat and gloves to counteract the freezing cold air you will experience. Also the tornado-like fan is so powerful that you could be sucked into it if you aren't careful. You should tether yourself to a telephone pole or other solid object before approaching the vehicle to avoid being sucked in like a bird into an airplane engine. Great product!

    1Blows in the wrong directionOct 15, 2007
I don't care about cooling the car. I bought two of these to vent out cigarette smoke. (Yes, we smoke in the car, go ahead and say "yuck" all you like!). The fan is certainly puny. I agree with the other reviewer, that the solar panel is inefficient.

I've discovered the real reason this gadget isn't going to cool anything, and isn't going to work for venting cigarette smoke from the car. The fan blows the wrong way! It blows into the car. This means you're drawing hot air into the car.

    Thoughtless design.

    1WorthlessSep 24, 2007
Only pointing this device directly at the sun will cause the fan to rotate. Unless you live in a part of the world where the sun sits on the horizon all day, it will never spin. Cracking a window, which allows a convective current to help exchange interior air, works better since the 'ventilator' does nothing but force you to crack a window. Boaters use a version of this device, but it costs around $100 -- and it works. There is no free lunch.
